Maria D. Hale has over 10 years experience
in the criminal justice system. After graduating
from Stetson University College of Law in 1998,
Hale became a Prosecutor in the Central Florida
area. During her tenure with the State Attorney's
Office, Hale conducted nearly 50 jury trials for
crimes such as Aggravated Battery, Aggravated
Assault with a Weapon, Grand Theft, Battery on a
Law Enforcement Officer, Lewd and Lascivious Acts
on a Child Under 12, Possession of Cocaine, DUI
and Domestic Battery. As a member of the State
Attorney DUI Manslaughter Special Prosecution
Unit, she completed several Advanced DUI schools
and was then selected to attend the Florida
Prosecuting Attorney Association Train the
Trainers Program where she went on to teach young
Prosecutors DUI prosecution techniques.
Hale's teaching experience includes
positions as FPAA Trainer & Critiquer, Stetson
University Teaching Assistant in Trial Advocacy
for the Honorable David A. Demers and Retired
Professor of Law, William Eleazer. She has coached
Mock Trial Teams since graduating law school
including Pinellas Park High School Mock Trial
Team, Stetson University's Mock Trial Team and
currently Barry University's Mock Trial
Team.
As a former Prosecutor, Hale witnessed
first hand strategies and techniques used by the
prosecution. In that position, she was also made
aware of the State's areas of weakness. By
learning her adversary's techniques and approach
from the inside, and after practicing criminal
defense, she is in a position to help you make an
informed decision about your
case.
